So recently my interest in the gym is plummeting somewhat now that nyc loosened their restrictions and capacity requirements gym is accessible without requiring reservations. Reservations is what would make me more likely to commit to go,but sometimes I would not show up anyways.

Main reason for decreased motivation to go to gym is i've just heard of several guys from here and coaches irl who have have dad bods, guts, skinny ,flabby etc but still pull baddies cuz their game is that good that their lack of a fit muscular physique doesn't effect them with women.

Obviously i'm not there yet so I don't have the ability to pull that off at my current level ,but i'm still less motivated to go workout. What's the point of working out if it won't make you more confident with women or affect results? There are more crucial fundamentals to work on like eye contact, vocal tonality. I'm in decent shape not super buff or shredded, but i've slimmed down and am pretty toned with some muscle,I even have some visible abs. Either way it's not like having bigger arms or a tight midsection or makes more women pay attention to me . At least not the women i'd want or were aware of. I think in the rank of fundamentals from One Date muscle/body is in the middle to least.

What do you use as fuel to go to gym and what keeps you going if its not belief that it can help attract women in long run? Workout for the sake of staying healthy, strong, feeling good and building testosterone?

I work out 3x a week, not for women, but for my own sense of physical capability.

I work out because I like the feeling of strength and power, which adds to my base confidence.

At one point during the lockdowns, I couldn't work out. So I lost muscle and strength while I got fat. This really destroyed my confidence and put me in a constant down mood.

When I was able to lift again and lose fat, my base confidence skyrocketed back up.

So my driver is not really women. The attractiveness factor is an ancillary driver.

To be honest, I always don't look forward to working out. It's hard and painful. But I always feel happy I did it after. And I like the constant feeling of power. Just knowing you can toss heavy shit around does wonders for confidence.

As far as what fuels me: fear. Fear of being weak and looking soft and fat. And I gained more appreciation for this when my fear was realized. I saw years of work disappear temporarily and it shook me badly.

If you haven't already, I would look into a strength training routine. Make sure you have perfect form and start light. Explore how it feels as you put more weight on the bar after each session or set of sessions.

I think you'll find your leaps in progress are motivating in itself. As you get more wins, you'll have more motivation to maintain that progress.

It's like if you build a sandcastle. Five minutes into it, you have little motivation to keep the waves from wrecking it. If you build this beautiful masterpiece after a few hours, you'll be extra motivated to protect it.

there are many benefits to working out:

- your clothes will definitely will fit better this directly impacts game...
- you can stereotype yourself as dom, masculine stereotype dtf dude (i for example sell stripper, gll/scotty/more plates more dates etc... the alpha jogs)
- you will have more energy this will definitely impact game..
- you will fuck better this will definitely impact game
- your voice will be deeper due to more testosterone this will definitely impact game...
- your face will look more angular instead of bloated this will definitely impact game...
- you will look better in person and pictures this will definitely impact game with a lot of the game now going to dating apps and shit!
- if you are older you can look younger which will allow you to game younger women this will definitely impact game...
- new generation and culture is total working out obsessed, so most women are into fitness in this new era one way or another...
- if you got girls on your rotation good luck trying to get them to look max, if you are not an example yourself...

Those clowns that say otherwise are total kjs (living in a different era), and if you are short you better be working out by the way, cause when you are short you will look twice as big if overweight

- you do not need to be ripped, just have some muscle and a flat stomach as a baseline, the results after that are minimal (but you should always want to strive for better)

motivation will come as you get results, if you are working out and not seeing results after effort gets depressing...
-nobody enjoys working out, it just something you have to do...
- complement exericise with an activity marital arts at the top of my list, dancing stuff, or now gym activities such as cross fit will give you also a social circle type of game which will directly impact game....

Tell me game being equal before and after who will do better??/

To become the sexiest man alive...

Having a clear cut goal lets you know what your endgame is, and gives you the DISCIPLINE to keep going when motivation isn't enough.

Like skills said, you don't need an insane physique that takes 20+ hours a week and dieting to maintain. Tbh the only people I see attracted to those bodybuilder type physiques are other dudes and some gym bunnies(but these girls will fall for dudes with game and decent fitness)

Another thing for me is that I want to live for a long time, and staying active and healthy is a good way to do that.

Lastly, good looks matter and make everything in life easier.

Yeah I find 12 o clock is my sweet spot. More late the less excited I get. More early I feel I have to force too much because I like to sleep a bit extra

I'll just tell you that after going for the gym 10+ years as at least a weekly routine,
and finally, this last two years falling off and not working out...I feel HORRIBLE!!
In comparison!

Gym is one of my top priorities right now but i have extenuating life circumstances ATM.
But i feel it all. Decreased sex drive. Less attention from woman. Less confidence.
I don't believe what I used to believe, though. I used to think I HAVE to be buff to get girls.
And we all know that's not the truth. But it's definitely making me work harder,
which I view as obstructing my progress...not helping it.

I think, if your confidence turns to cockiness, you will catch the "training wheels" mentality.
"Oh, I wont work out, but it will just make my 'natural game' so much better!"
Cool if it works for you. I can't do it that way though.

-Look forward to talking to girls at the gym discreetly as possible. Dont want to creep anyone out at a place I frequent so I play it safe. But it still gives me something to look forward to.
-Look forward to bumping my headphones while working out. Associate that combo with feeling manly, powerful, and hungry/motivated.
-Look forward to what I get to do after the gym: smoke weed and pig out on good food. Don't let myself do that unless i hit the gym.

TLDR: I would much prefer to be in the gym right now because the effort-to-reward ratio is so large. Spending only a few hours per week, can improve my RESULTS by a huge factor.

No matter how good you are - IMO the gym makes you better.

Gym is physical therapy.

You do it because of YOU, and only you. Looking fo external motivation will only make it worse.
The benefit of raised testo alone is more than enough evidence to quit complaining and going back to lifting.

I rather suck it up and go (especially on my bad days) just to have natural huge boners when I undress an attractive woman.

I go to the gym because I don't want to end up like my dad one day, sitting around, fat, sad, married to some fat, feminist, liberal bitch who treats him like garbage... nothing to strive for in his life, no relationship with anyone in his family, including his kids.

I also am addicted to working out since I've been doing it since I was a kid... it you consistently workout for 6 months to a year, most people end up getting addicted to it and get back to it even if they take breaks, which naturally happens, for many.

I suggest doing it for any reason you can come up with...
- Being strong and healthy when you're older
- Getting hotter girls
- Being proud of yourself
- Looking good naked
- Feel better about everything, in general
- Fight against disease
- Get better sleep
- Have better sex
- Gives you more control over yourself, your body, and your life

a good date brings a smile to your lips... and hers

The way towards consistency and growth in anything is self-discipline and having a clear understanding and definitions of clear goals you want to achieve.
People are used to going for the path of least resistance which causes people to take shortcuts in everything and people do what is expectant rather than what is necessary for success.

In other words, your motivation will change but having self-discipline will not. Create a schedule and stick to it. The first month will be hard but afterwards, it will become a habit.

On top of what @DML said, make it as easy as possible for you to go.

Have a bag of gym clothes ready for yourself... have everything you need setup and ready to go. Get a gym buddy who pushes you to go as well.

You can also get leverage on yourself by telling a friend that you'll give him money if you DON'T go, that what you're pressured to do it and embarrassed and out money if you don't.

I'm personally more motivated by pain than pleasure so I often look for what will happen if I don't go... create a vivid story about how you'll end up if you don't end up going to the gym, alone, in pain, unable to even go out because you're so fat that it's hard to walk... women think you're disgusting... too embarrassed to take your shirt off... your girlfriend leaves you for a stud because you're too weak and pathetic to even take care of your body.

Then create a powerful story of who you'll be if you do workout... sexy, awesome, full of energy, the type of guy hot girls just naturally go to and fall in love with. Women want to be with you, men want to be you. Proving your friends and family wrong... you are a stud, and you showed them.

The more pain and pleasure on both sides that you can build, the better.

I love working out and my genetics let me get ripped as hell, but the “pain” feels so good and setting new personal records. It just feels manly.

You’re not doing the right work outs, your reasons are also bad. Find enjoyment in the actual working out. And ignore the dad bods lol. Yes there’s guys out of shape getting laid a lot easily but you want every advantage as possible.

I have 4 personal trainers certifications and I got all of them just to help me work out more efficiently, to be my own personal trainer. I never intended to work as one or train anyone else.

My record was i’m 5’9” weighed 140 lbs bench pressed one clean rep for 275 lbs. while at below 6% body fat. let me find a pic.

That’s me a few years ago. I’m getting back in shape after some terrible things happening to me.

I’ll be ripped and bulked within 6 months of consistent working out. and i have meticulous work out logs from every time i ever worked out, cuz i’m OCD.

once you get it right, you’ll want to stay. i worked out 2 hours without a long break and going hard regularly back then.

start out with 30 minutes, hire a personal trainer if you don’t know if you’re doing the work outs properly in terms of body positioning and if you don’t know rep and sets and some basic sciences behind working out. go hard for 3” minutes.

you may not and mostly won’t want to work out at the gym most days. but force yourself to go and you’ll be glad you did within 5 minutes being there. i drove so many times through 30 minute thunderstorms wanting to turn around but once i got there i was at home (metaphorically).

or make a promise to yourself to show up and you can leave after 10 minutes. i’ve never stayed less than 45 minutes.

get a work out partner or play a sport like on meetup.com or groupon idk. i just like lifting weights, and not many sports. ice skating lol. (not joking)

hope that helps.

No way, does Karea know you’re here?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's taking a break from forums at the moment, lol. Long story.

When the gyms over here closed down again in December I decided to quit my gym membership and only focus on calisthenics. Now the gyms have been open for a month, and I couldn't help but become a member again. There was no rational thought behind it, I just did it by instinct... I guess I became more addicted to it than I realized.

Back when I went to the gym, I did it to keep myself sane (endorphines, testosterone and stuff like that). Now it feels like I must go because I have to...

If I am going to start a new hobby I would like to become skillful at, I guess my mantra will be "reach a point where not doing it feels awful"
