Is it ever okay to tease a girl about physical characteristics?

I recently teased a girl a bit much and I think I went overboard. Mostly about her age (she's 21, I'm 20. I called her "old as fuck" as a joke) and her height (which is normal for a girl). I said it all playfully of course and she was laughing, and I mixed in with non-physical compliments but I think she might've gotten a little annoyed. It was basically our first time talking too so I should build more comfort next time. We just slipped into banter really easily.

After the interaction I remembered reading on Girlschase or some other seduction material that you shouldn't joke about physical characteristics and thought I'd ask here. Should this be done at all? And is there a right way of doing it?
