People in america call it a speedo, but it's kind of different (one for pool and performance, other for beach and style).
There are two longer versions of sunga (they cover a bit of your thigh) and a shorter one called slim. I prefere the last.
Some popular brands in Brazil:
- liquido
- track and field
- bannana (geared more towards the homo crowd, but still managable)
- blueman
- agua de coco

Sadly men's beach wear has been on a boring trend for a while now.
Really hard to find good stuff.

P.S. as always, avoid white pieces because they tend to show too much when you put them in the water
