AFCnoob just posted a lay report (here's the report) in which he took a girl to an extra venue that he realized he didn't need to take her to, because she was already ready to go home.
This raises the point though, of how'd he know that, and how do you get a read for when you can skip steps?
Basically, you know you can skip a step if the objective the next step is designed to accomplish is already accomplished. Some examples to see what I mean:
Normally you won't be thinking about it analytically like this though (i.e., thinking to yourself, "What is the purpose of this action I'm about to take? Oh, yes - that purpose is already fulfilled! Excellent, let's SKIP the next step and go onto the FOLLOWING one!"). Rather, you'll get a guy feeling that you should be moving faster than you are.
Your gut will start telling you, "Whoa, something's wrong - this girl's really digging me, why am I doing this?" THAT is your universal cue to skip whatever step you're on and get her to the next one. Listen to your gut - all it is is your subconscious mind processing more details than your conscious mind can handle, and feeding you directions through subtle emotions. Trust it and follow it. If it's telling you you're moving too slow, you are - skip the step you're on and move to the next step.

- You're about to tease her a bit, but you realize she's already really interested in talking to you. Skip banter, go straight to rapport.
- You move her around a bit, and she's complying very readily without any sign of protest and clearly wants to help you keep things moving along. You deep dive, and things go great; you decide it's time to leave this place, and deliberate over whether to take her elsewhere, or take her home. Because she's clearly contributing a lot and very warm already, skip taking her elsewhere (if that's part of your usual process) and take her home straightaway.
- You're about to start deep diving and screening and building a connection, but you realize she's touching you a lot and breathing heavy and already very attracted. Skip the connection stuff, pull her somewhere the two of you can be alone that you can escalate to sex.
