In my social circle, there is a party girl (loud and extroverted, drinks a lot, party every friday, etc). Unsurprisingly, she flirts with every guy around. She touches and make suggestive coments, all with a very open body posture. But when she is talking to me, she is meeker, don`t flirt and keeps a closed body posture, with arms around chest. If we are in a group talk, she is bolder and flirts a bit, but not much. My interpretation was that she did not liked me, so I mostly left her alone.
However, she takes the initiative to talk to me many times. And other than the body posture and uncharacteristic lack of flirting, conversations flow well. I decided to run a test and asked her, twice, to go smoke with me, in a place where we would be alone to talk. She accepted both times.
For me, it is weird for a party girl to behave shy/closed, as they have plenty of experience dealing with guys they like and don`t like. Even weirder for her to seek some contact even if she is clear not tottaly confortable in my presence.
I am also pretty sure that she is seeing someone else, but I don`t know how serious it is, so I am willling to give a try, provided that I understand what is going on here.
Has any of you guys encountered a similar situation or has any tip to give? I would be very glad.
