Many guys confuse optimal with low effort.

Can you get laid wearing out of trend fashion? Yes, you can.
Can you make girls pay for your dates? Yes, you can.
Can you get laid by approaching all girls with the same exact opener? Yes, you can.

Doesn’t mean you should.

Needs to be Sticked.

@Skills I love skinny jeans, and I hate to admit that it is a bit out of fashion - with the exception of certain subcultures. I personally look meh with baggy jeans. also baggy jeans look like shit with Boots. So I am currently trying to find a trade off here. I may wear baggier jeans with sneakers, but for boots, slim-fit is the new thing I will try out.

Certain slimmer styles like carrot cuts are fashionable and I like it. They suit me well.

This is is in line with your definition of optimal: calibrating to the social world, while taking personal preferences and what fits you (calibrating to yourself).

In PU there are tradeoffs to be made. The sooner one accepts this the better.

An alternative strategy has been to use skinny jeans, which I like, but that are out of fashion, while making sure everything else I wear is extra fashionable (as in, extra cool as per today's trend). In which case, the skinny jeans becomes more of a "rule-breaking" touch - giving you some uniqueness, while at the same time, you communicate that "you get it" by making sure the REST of your oufit is 100% in-line with today's trends - preferably making up for the fact that you are wearing skinny jeans. Nevertheless, this is a bit more complex and considered advanced "fashion-knowledge" which I believe I possess. I wouldn't recommend this to "regular men". You better know what you are doing.

Best,

This is over-simplified. For example extraversion helps with getting laid but introverts can clean up with more chill venue selection.

Half of the top-puas are introverts.

No correlation between extroversion and getting laid.

This is a myth.

For me optimization is a scale not 0 or 1

It either IS optimal or it is NOT. Maybe what you are trying to say is that optimization is multivariate, which it is. It also has some subjective factor based on which criteria you judge a strategy. Furthermore, it is contextual.

But I fail to see how it is a scale.

Maybe this is where I'm just different to a lot of seducers, I see nothing wrong with "good enough" and not having to be "optimal"/"perfect"

Either you want to satisfice or you want to optimize. Two different terms.

However, otpimization is optimization, and satisficing is satisficing. It is then up to you which one you prefer.

And some night I want optimal results, some night I just want to bang a cute and easy 7 (satisficing). Your desires may differ from day to day, but optimal remains optimal.

Doesn't have to be baggy, it can be loose or regular, slim ok ... Skinny is out, what you wore before skinny came out? I guarantee you is the same what trending... We are back to 2010 and you are around then .... Boots go well with baggy such as dr Martin and timberland... They are back trending, Even the new Chelsea are design with Dr Martin type bottom to accommodate the baggy fit covering the issue.... Shoter guys may have issues with the style but there are ways around that... It took me a year to change, but Jesus Christ my results skyrocket no comparison....

I hate Dr Marteens.

I tend to like the carrot cut personally, and leaning towards it.

Slim is neutral.

I am a shorter guy compared to the population where I live.

Could be, even if it is the new optimum, I'll take the loss on this one 😂.

Even when I hated slim fit clothes, it was because I didnt feel comfy in them and didnt care about looks. But I just opened up good old tiktok to educate myself and these new styles dont look appealing so Im glad that where I live, the good old skinny is still dominant choice even for Gen Z girls
This is your ras... I am telling you cause when the dude from my crew was telling me this I told him exactly what you are saying.... Little by little I saw micro inconsistencies in results that made no sense... I deducted had to be fundamentals, change and boom right away good results immediately, guys told me low your expectations first night will be a disaster, and the opposite happened immediately...you want to be ahead of trend cause will give you an advantage in the field....I don't know how many times I have been trying to explain this...

Teevester I know this I hate Martin's to, I was talking that with the style boots work cause it helps no to step in the pants I was addressing the comments of boots look like shit... There are ways around for shorter guys but agree harder to pull the style...

Lol the point I am trying to make with optimal is though we feel uncomfortable, we feel cringe, we don't want to do it, I didn't optimal is optimal... As I said in the review of 2023 when I knew I have to make drastic changes.... In the store I was like wtf am I doing as I was switching styles.. come to Jesus moment.... Going out was nerve wracking the first time, but I am glad I got out of comfort zone...

I think they're linked. By being optimal you can put in less effort and get the same/better results.

Don't see a problem with that.
I agree on principle.

In practice, lot of people choose an “optimal” path without really field testing the alternatives.

So it is not really an optimal path, it’s a suboptimal path of least resistance.

@Skills Could we get any pictures/videos of your current styling? Like how you did for gym outfits (and if there are any updates you see for good gym attire).

Are there any adjustments needed for pant sizing if you have big thighs from lifting? Also for fit guys that have size to show, is this basically a wider acceptance for the large draping shirts that are baggy on the lower part, but sit on the shoulders/back/arms in a way that clearly show them? Or is there an issue with the materials for shirts like that? (seeing mostly big whatever t-shirts as the current trend)

That said, i still get opened and receive compliments due to my style, so I must be doing something right though.

But all in all I agree with you.

Gotta learn the norms before you can break them.

Im not disagreeing with you. I just dont care about optimal results when it comes to fashion. I prefer efficiency or like Ulrich said - lowest effort required to get decent results.

I've also been complimented on my style even though ive been rocking skinny amd slim fit pants and jeans for a while so my motivation to spend time and money isnt there yet.

In france slim and looser jeans was not so out of fashion. However in scandinavia that tends to follow uk fashion, skinny is out.

I think super skinny is fully out though. Lets face it they were never comfortable to wear anyway (and boy did i have skinny jeans).

I do think modern skinny jeans have a different cut than say 2016. They have of that carrot cut.

trends start in Europe, then go latin america/ny/Cali then everywhere else...

Trends are so funny.

I went to Berlin in 2010 and bought a buttoned black coat with leopard details.
A fine piece for sure, but I think I paid only 10 euros for it (it was the end of the winter, so they had huge discounts on winter clothes).
It quickly went out of fashion, but I saved it anyway.
Now it's on top of of the world again lol.

I don't blame you took me a year, I mention that in the post is slow process to see something is off like my wing he doesn't care, but I can tell his results going way down, and I am trying to get rid of him

Are shirts like these on the menu, as long as you get it 1 size up?
