I'm gonna take the opportunity of this thread to throw in a neat little trick I started doing recently to improve my posture while I walk.
Instead of pulling my shoulders back with my muscles or such things, what I do is use my eyes to guide my body: as I walk I make a conscious choice keep my eyes looking "just above the horizon". This naturally and effortlessly shapes my body into a more upright position, without it feeling "forced" in any way.
I think this is a fix for the fact as we mostly live in cities with the horizon blocked, we tend to look much lower down as we walk, and this leads our body into a more bent shape. Now, even if I'm surrounded by tall buildings I look toward the imagined line of the horizon and find my posture just fixes itself. Try it!
