Day 5 started shiny, finished dark.
I enter the shopping mall, not the one I went to yesterday, this is the biggest mall of the city and pretty much attracts people from everywhere, I think it doesn't have the chill vibe of suburb malls.
I spot a girl sitting down on her own, I go sit next to her, after a few seconds:
Me: Hi
She: (was scrolling) Looks at me, somehow excited.
Me: How is your day going?
She: (smiles): good
Me: Do you know how can I get to Cole? (wanted to speak a bit more, so I added) I knew where it was before the new construction but
She: (interrupts me and gives the direction)
Me: (I didn't take offence, I think she didn't mean offence) Thanks
I leave, I could continue the convo, I even thought to ask her if she is meeting any friends in the mall but I didn't, I think I am too focused on the task today. Reminder to myself: keep it playful mate, it is not your job, enjoy the ride.
I actually move to Coles, on the way I approach two more ladies.
I enter Coles move around, don't buy anything, get out.
I think I have approached 3 ladies in less than 15 mins.
I get to the location I met the first girl, she is still sitting down, still scrolling, shall I approach her? what if she says what did you buy at Coles? (too much thinking) I walk around a bit, I know there is a chance with her, I decide to go back to Coles buy a protein bar, get back to her and brag about working out and my diet.
When in Coles I look for protein bar, can't locate them, I bought Kit Kat, get out of Coles, I start thinking what if I go there and she is not there, I feel like I am investing a lot on that occasion and refrain from going there.
I approached another girl, nice reply.
I realize all the girls I have approached today are Asian, so I decide no more Asian. Start looking for others and realize how rare they are, seems this mall is very popular between Asians.
I buy two t-shirts, after that I approach a black hair non Asian woman,
Me: Hi
She: (Doesn't reply and look right into my eyes as if she is very serious)
Me: (I refrain from asking "How is your day going?" and ask Coles directon.)
She gives direction.
I didn't say "How your day is going?" so this one doesn't count, this question has got a point in it, if the lady is not chill, throws her off. Too intrusive for the beginning of the convo? But I saw with he first girl, if she is chill and relaxed, this question just did what it meant to do, broke the ice.
I spot another girl, one of those with whole black outfit and black hair, seated, I walk towards her from back and sit next to her, after a few seconds,
Me: Hi
She: (turns to me, went back to her cell phone and looked at me again. tune down the volume of her headphones?)
Me: (My energy dropped a bit since she didn't say hi but anyway I continue) How can I get to ...
She gives the direction.
I start walking, come across this gorgeous tall blondy, "How can she be taller than me and still look good?" I shy away from approaching.
Approached another woman
Me: Hi
She looks into my eyes.
Me: How is your day going?
She starts walking away.
Me: (with loud voice) How can I get to Coles?
This one counts
, I said "How is your day going?"
I didn't feel good about "How is your day going?" from the beginning, but decided to trust the assignment, also I think it suits when she is relaxed which is not the general vibe of this mall.
Tried approaching seated girls, so got some experience for future task, also received one reject, and indeed it was not biggie.
Task completed.
