Re: STICKIED: What are your goals in life?

I don't have any goals in life to be honest.
Well i haven't found anything i desire to a point that i would do anything for it.
Even the desire to get good with girls is slowly slipping away. Well i didn't even much care for relating with girls. I just wanted the accolade like for example someone would say " Oh yeah Salamence, that guy is super good with women!" and no one really thinks about getting good with women, its rare. I mostly wanted that to be the topic someone talks about when my name is mentioned, but now i could really care less haha.
I wanted to be a DJ/Music producer but that slipped away. Once i was practicing for it, i didnt like it.
Maybe be a professional athlete? im not sure yet.
School? Nah i don't like homework and i haven't really explored any jobs yet so still trying that out.
All i know whatever it is i do..., it's going to be something completely unorthodox and weird if that makes any sense?

Right now the only focus i got is learning to drive and losing weight and getting fit.

Re: STICKIED: What are your goals in life?

Growing up and learning to scramble my way out of the box to understand something's actions has caused me to focus all my energy onto something at once and nothing else until I am contempt with what I have. Building my own computer was one of the greatest experiences I have had so far yet it has also opened me further. I never once cared for women or other men really, I had wishes of course but emotions come and go. My entire childhood I was expecting to see my self go to university and finish with ease, create a good living for myself and then I guess everything would fall into place.

Fast forward to me becoming a young man thanks to my age and I have shrugged off my ideals. I'm still socially awkward a lot of times, which I give attribute towards my focused yet changing desires. Im a very flawed character, yet i attract some of the greatest people around me. Eventually i hope to give others something back. My ultimate goals in life as of right now is to get a job in sales. It's going to be hard and at times I'm going to hate it, yet I know better than to fall into victim mentality. It's clear that I do not want a family, or not in the often mainstream ideal. I don't want shackles.

I still have great passion towards technology. Fashion is also a new found area of interest which I hope to excel at.

However come a few generations and all this is going to mean is nothing. It's clear to me that I have to create a legacy of some sort, or be come a failure in my own eyes trying. I don't know how big or small but I have to leave something behind. At this stage in my life I'm so new to everything and I still get scared when I realize I'm going to have to make it in the real world very soon and then I calm myself and know that all I need to do is learn the process.

In the end this is just a bunch of words on the page and one day I might look back at this and be a success or failure. Only time and my actions will tell.

- Master my profession, and, open my own business to reap the rewards
- Improve my social skills so I can fit in anywhere and get what I want much more easily
- Master the guitar.
- Learn to live more in the moment so I stop letting life pass by as I plan for the future.

Re: STICKIED: What are your goals in life?

I decided to major in psychology, specifically therapy during my last year of high school this year passed. This is my first summer after graduation, and yesterday my goals and aspirations were cemented. Through this community, and a few specific members, I got turned on to a few books (How To Win Friends and Influence People) which totally enhanced my personality. I've always been the type to help other people, and I feel so much for people who are not as fortunate as myself. Too many people live in ignorance, and too many people live hard lives, feeling like everything is against them. I want to show people that happiness is something you create for yourself, and it's something you create so freely and effortlessly. I want people to know that you don't need money, power, or prestige to be happy. In my future, I want to take people who are unhappy, and boost them into happiness, not just bring them to normalcy, I want to make people's lives better, through psychology, therapy, and speaking, I hope to reach a much broader audience of people. At 18 years old, these are my goals.

Ah, life goals...

I had a lot of them, many of them outlandish and relying on me being a preternaturally effective individual. I've since had an existential crisis and calmed down a bit. Still pretty ambitious, though.

I have some entrepreneurial projects that are in the works, some humanitarian goals, and eventually I plan on adopting some children and raising them with a wonderwoman.

I also want a couple of diligent sex slaves attuned to my every desire. Still actively working on all of the above. Limited success in all of them, in fact.

As far as Eric's immortality goals go...I'm a donor to a couple of major projects related to regenerative medicine specifically for purposes of reversing the aging process, so I can relate.

1. 1 million $ cash. Halfway there.
2. Be super fit and healthy. Halfway there... I'm very healthy and my cardio is excellent, working on bodybuilding and bulking up now.
3. Retire when I'm 45. Should be fairly easy.
4. Live somewhere nice... Malta... the Mediterranean... the Caribbean... Belize or Costa Rica, etc.... Might be a little harder, as I don't want to go alone and would need a willing partner.
5. Get women! I suck at this... which is why I'm on here. I really only want one nice one... but I'm a late starter as I wasted my life from 20-35. I'm mostly attracted to south Asian (Indian/Pakistani) and Persian women... so this might be a lot harder actually as I'm white.
6. Have healthy and happy kids! I don't want to disappoint my parents. I know they love me, but can't help but feel I am not quite living up to what they'd hoped.
7. Do fun stuff after retirement. Scuba diving... traveling... learning to play piano... lean Latin.

The only problem might be the conservative parents, the girls will most likely -on average- find you even more attractive.

Re: STICKIED: What are your goals in life?

I've long believed the main metric to judge how good a life was is simply asking "how happy were you".

I find it correlates a bit weakly with what most western societies see as "successful" as the most common regrets people have on the deathbed are"I wish I hadn't worked so much; I wish I had spent more time with my family/with my friends".

I tend to be more prone to happiness than sadness and long been mostly happy.

But lately difficulty in finding/starting a career and lack of good social circle (moving too frequently) is taking a toll so that's my next goal: find a decently paying job I like (no big bucks required) with 30 days holidays per year and that won't require too overtime.
And finally stop somewhere for a while and have easy going and fun friends.

So that's all, at the end of the day the goal is just being happy and always have a smile.

Re: STICKIED: What are your goals in life?

Okay here are my goals. They are more or less in chronological order:

1.) Random Pickup
While I have had hookups since learning about game, I have yet to have a day game cold approach turn into a lay or a girlfriend.

2.) Turn Random Stranger into a Friend
All of my friends have come from class or work. I feel like I never really got to choose my friends. I want to change that.

3.) Fun Night
All my fun nights out have been with my brothers friends, school clubs I was in, or going solo. I want to be the one to set things up with my friends and enjoy the outcome.

4.) Feel Alive Each Day (get a life)
No more just living a comfortable life.

5.) Tutor
I was a teacher for gifted students. LOVED the job and thought this was what I was suppose to do. It didn't work out. Don't want to go into details on this post, but I think being a tutor is exactly what I'm cut out for.

6.) eBook
I've been wanting to make an eBook I can sell. Even if it doesn't do well at least I tried doing it.

7.) iPhone Game
I tried making an iPhone game back in the day. I gave up in frustration. Recently came across some new development software and I think it might be possible now. Reminds me when I tried to build an electronic device. I gave up in frustration. Months later I found some new tools and programs. I was able to finish after all and even better than I planned it.

8.) Sleep / live outside 14 days
I love nature. Every time I'm in my backyard looking at the forest I feel this oneness with the universe. I want to spend twos week out there with no communicate with the rest of the world.

9.) Road Trip
One road trip to all the major us cities.

10.) Resort home
Want a house where I can sunbath in the backyard naked. Nice way to wrap up finishing my goals. :p

The website above is a great tool if you are goal-centric. I'm not usually a list-making kinda guy, but it has helped me keep things in perspective (and hopefully attractive and interesting).

One crazy goal I'm seeking to achieve is to find success as a screenwriter. After a rough patch over a year, I kept it together by reading about screenwriting and managed to write a feature-length script. I followed up by taking classes to improve my craft. I'm finishing this year and I have a deadline by June to write another plus two shorts.

I'm learning that saying your a writer isn't all that great. "What do you got?" Well, I got some actual shit I wrote.

Just gotta keep at it.

My dream is to mass produce something that society needs simply. I don't know what that is exactly. Maybe mass produce the new battery that never dies or mass produce a artificial meat to feed more people.

The way I'm going about it is earning my degree in Chemical Engineering. Currently in the military waiting to get out. That is pretty much it for now. also want a wife and kids
