What to look for in a sex bed?

Been having this 200x70 cm bed for a long time and need a 200x140 (double bed). Anyone here who has experience in what kind of bed to choose (or what to look after), so you avoid creaking sounds when in action etc. What about kick stands?

May sound hillarious for this question but I'd like to know of ppl's bad experience with beds

So far I know soft beds are bad for sex :/

Funny you bring this up, Man-O! I find it to be relevant. =)

I thought I was quite the badass when I purchased my first queen-size bed with a headboard and footboard (and no box spring -- just "slats" underneath the mattress). However, I had never hated a bed more in my life after using this one for about six months.

Having a queen size bed is great; I highly recommend getting a queen size or larger simply because it is much more comfortable to sleep next to a woman when you have more space. That being said, there were several things I've done to maximize my sexual experiences for my bed:

  • Completely removed the frame and slats. My bed now rests on a box spring that just sits directly on the floor (which is carpet). Having the box spring directly on the floor (instead of on any type of metal bars) makes it so that there is no squeaking noise, and I can be as rough as I want while also being as "stealthy" as I want.
  • Replaced my headboard with two "headboard" pillows that can be pushed up against a wall. Since I wanted to completely remove my frame, it means I also had to replace my headboard. I found the pillows to be a great solution.

My bed is now extremely low to the ground, but I found it to be very convenient for sexual purposes. My bed makes literally no noise, and I have a relatively sturdy mattress that doesn't sink in too much. I can have any type of sex on it without any worry of things not going exactly as planned. ;)

I've broken every bed I've ever had, except for the queen sized bed I got in my 5th year of college. It was awesome

Then I moved to the city and decided NOT to get a bed.

Best decision of my life. I can fuck as hard as I want and I'm pretty sure I won't break the ground (but who knows). I don't think I'll ever get a real bed again. I just have a sleeping bag (that Franco gave me <3), a comforter, a blanket, and some pillows. I've never slept so well in my life either.

Seconded, a queen sized bed is very nice and flexible.

I used a memory foam mattress on a very plain and bare solid wooden frame and no headboards or anything - it's extremely sturdy and makes no squeaking noises, and the whole setup allows for extra storage space beneath the bed. And you can fuck as hard as you want without worrying about anything breaking - this wooden frame happens to be very well made.

It's also at the perfect height where I can stand off the side of the bed and fuck a girl while she's laying on her back in the bed.

With really rough sex, cheap bed frames don't seem to do so well. Have broken a couple of girlfriend's beds, and also watched one of them explain it to her roommate as we were taking it out to the trash. Haha, that was fun to witness.

Much as the other guys suggested no headboard I find a headboard to be useful for reading as I can put my pillows against it and lean back without inadvertently pushing the bed away from the wall and creating a crack for my pillows to fall into. I also suggest having plenty of spots to tie your girl up to, the legs can serve this purpose but if you have a headboard with slats you won't need as much rope/silk/whatever. Note when I moved into my apartment 1.5yrs back I was planning to get a fancy-ass bed and there is a picture of it somewhere in these boards and some discussion... think maybe the thread waa started by lux7... however I never bothered and have found my student-ass bed ($40 from Ikea although the slats are another $40 and they try to rip you off for the mattress)... to be ABSOLUTELY FINE and as a rule every time in my life I've bought expensive furniture I have really regretted it, in general any kind of over-grandiose shit has to be sold next time you move whereas cheap small generic functional items seem to stand the test of time. Note furniture loses 90% of its value when it leaves the showroom, it's much worse than cars in that respect. I also don't like queen or king size beds because in my experience the feeling is a lot less initimate than double. I do recommend a firm mattress if you put 2 people in a double.
