When do you stop texting a girl after you have made date arrangements?

Hi guys,

Recently I came across some issue with girls and how they would text you things after agreeing to meet up at a time and place. I know that cutting all contact between after making arrangements via text and the date is crucial. However, sometimes girls would send me things like:

(after back and forth making date arrangements)
Me: "I'll see you at 8 pm ;)"

Her: "Great, oh and guess what? I just got the job offer!" (we had talked about a job she was applying to during the first date)

Normally here, if I respond "thats awesome!", it would sort of shift the last conversation onto me and the power to her. Would you guys have any idea how you normally gauge when to respond back to a text after arrangements have been made? Thanks!

Something like this

"That's cool! Tell me about it on the date/when we meet up :)"

You can also start with congratulations. Endless possibilities.

But the point is to make her talk about it when you meet in person. Now you have already got a topic for the date :)

Works great for both friends, family and dates, and it's pretty neutral.

You guys think it is better to not text at all after the date was arranged and the days between the date? Sometimes I plan a date five days or a week ahead and make the arrangement with the girl via text. Usually I don't text with her until the date, but it also feels a bit awkward not to do. Maybe it's better to do that with the girl when you know her better and it's not the first date?

the right date makes getting her back home a piece of cake

You feel it's awkward, but the reality is, it's not :) You're giving her the subtle message that you're a busy man and not one of her texting-buddies. Keep it that way.
