Old School Direct Game Openers.... Revisited

If by any chance, you still do not see how neo direct game (stating all your interest right away, lose all your frame, and be a simp: e.g. "hey I saw you walking by and I just wanted to say you look gorgeous") differs from good old school direct game, then perhaps you would like to check out this short section from the Love System's Routine Manual.

Notice how they label direct openers as something that "explicitly express some degree of interest. It doesn't mean reveal all your cards and give away your frame. It also has some ambiguity to them (in regard to the level of intent you express) and they also convey attractive traits (mostly... a shitlot of confidence). It is nothing like this neo-direct crap...

I could totally see myself use many of these openers. I consider most of them quite good. I have personally used the "If you're going to look at me like that, you should at least talk to me". It is an amazing openers, with a 50% success rate (much higher than any neo-direct opener). When it does work, it truly WORKS.

And that I think is true to all these openers. They are higher risk and higher reward than most indirect openers. They do the screening job perfectly, without making you come off as a chump or lose frame - and when successful, will speed up the seduction process - everything direct game was initially designed to accomplish. Good stuff

Usually my vibe is super friendly, but those openers still seem not to work for me. No problem with other types of openers, though.

Any opener with enough stubbornness and provided you actually approached the girls and aren't catcalling them will work eventually maybe even early on.

I've said something like this and it went fine and another time it didn't. Would I use it again? Not really because there are other openers and pre-openers that are more effective imo and less prone to knee-jerk.

Maybe you're fundamentally tight and your delivery is nice.

But a much better answer to your question would be the results you get from it and if you're happy with them.

So go field-test it and other openers against many women and see what you think. Report back if you'd like.

most of my openers are non verbal and/or situational??(i would say 98% of the time, if i don't have a situational the few directs i have used in the past are:

- if she is looking at me is "how are you going to look at me like that and no say hi?" cajun love systems
- "since we don't know each other and we don't have any friends in common i decided to take the initiative and say hi"
- hey i think you are attractive but i just want to find out if your looks match your personality...
- the above 2 i sometimes combine with can i meet you real quick since we don't know each.... /can i meet you real quick, i think blah blah...

p.s. i also do a lot of hit and run openers from teevester

Can this work? Yes.

Are these good openers? No.

Ask yourself the following questions:
- Do these openers set you apart from other men?
- Do these women make her curious about interacting further with you?
- Do these openers open up the way for easy transitions?
- Do these openers make her feel secure or at ease to talk to you?
- Do these openers convey attractive traits about you?

In my opinion, a good opener needs to score "yes" on three of these five factors (there are some exceptions - these are not rules set in stone by any means)

It could be a lack of calibration, or it could be that they simply do not match well with your presence (looks, vibe, personality etc) or the type of girl you approach (their stereotype, their level of confidence etc)

I would ask further questions to figure out what the cause is... but...

You have no problems with other openers. Hence I honestly do not see much of an issue here. There are plenty of openers that don't work (well) for me. That's ok, since there are plenty of others that do work for me. Why waste them and energy on making a certain type of opener for you.

Based on the info provided that other openers works for you, I would simply dismiss these types of openers on the ground that "they are not suited for you".

You are welcome. The section on openers and hooks (they call them "transitions" which they are as well..) is really good. I would also check out the part on qualification.

There are however later on in the book plenty of useless routines/gambits though.

Some exceptions do exist, like those by in10se... (Twotimer) one of the posters back then who influenced me the most. One example that comes to mind is "The Shadow and The Rising Sun" - you can totally see where I got my inspiration from.

FYI: That gambit (The Shadow and The Rising Sun) is actually a part (one of the 5 routines I think) of the infamous October Man Sequence.

Great discussion here. Some interesting trivia, this opener which is now considered neo direct is actually not neo (new) at all. Ross Jeffries was teaching it in the 90s.

If you analyze its structure, is almost always 1. pace and 2. compliment. We used to often add an 3. SOI to it as well, such as "so I wanted to meet you."

So this opener is like a quarter century old. It started gaining huge popularity in the community when Sinn and Future took the subway in NYC one day and figured out how great it can work in day game, ca. 2007.

So far so good, it was the London day gamers who then really made it mainstream and brought it to the masses. I stopped using it in 2010, about 2-4 years before the rest of the world started using it.

When Ross, Sinn and I used it, it was this:

... Because nobody was ever EVER saying this to girls back then. Now it's as overused and mainstream as "what's your star sign" was in the 70s. In 2018 I met a guy who used it and he had never even heard of the community. Yet used the opener EXACTLY and verbatim.

The opener has other problems, as teevster says it gives away too much of the man's power. I had a huge thread about it in 2010 when I realized how the structure of this opener sets up the wrong compliance momentum:

When you do a direct approach, you are assuming attraction. And if you have attraction you should compliance test, not give her a compliment. This is pretty basic stuff, I was shocked on 2010 that nobody has realized this... imagine now

"I saw you from over there" is the "who lies more" of daygame. There's much better material in this thread. And btw, I don't think you need to worry about copy right as love systems doesn't even exist as a company anymore... They got bought out by some guys who don't even teach pickup.
